INVESTIGATION

Past investigation by the government agencies mandated with investigating corruption allegations including KACC and parliament have denied CHB of possible money laundering and even called for its reopening.
Why has the bank not been re-opened one may ask? Is it because Mr.Ranneberger said so or what ?And as the government delays re-opening is the government aware that innocent Kenyans who deposited their life’s saving ,School fees, hospital bills and even up keep money there? Are they aware that there might be an innocent child who sleeps hungry because his parents money are held up in a bank for reasons that they might be at least aware?
Mr. Ranneberger claims that the bank should remain closed since there are fresh details to emerge. The question is where he has been all this time with his so called fresh evidence. I want to believe if he was a good man, he should have handed the fresh evidence to kacc already
The bank officials have continuously said that if they have any wrong doing, they should be taken to court after all our national anthem says that justice should be our shield and defender.   The government knows too well that the accusations of which were leveled against the bank were allegedly committed even when there was no law to govern against them. How do you determine that some body has trespassed when there were no boundaries; how do you say they are wrong when there is no right?
Most banks officials insist that many banks operate yet they have cases pending in court. Is there something sinister that we don’t know believe that the law should guide us and the courts should serve as non-partisan referee not an opinionated ambassador.

on charter house

You can fool some people all the time, you can fool all people sometimes but you can’t fool all people all the time. Some how you will always get entangled in a web of lies and when the time comes the truth always comes out no matter how well one had tried to hide the truth. And I think what had ended up perplexing the public four years ago is back again to hunt us. The question is this time round will the truth have its way? Or will we all be left with many unanswered questions.
2006 was a year that left many of us wondering how safe our money was in the banks. Out of the blues the 26th biggest bank was abruptly closed. It cost Andrew Mullei and his obvious successor Jacinta Mwatela missing out on their job. What was worse is that its customers were never refunded and up to today the customers are still waiting in bated breath hoping that they can get their money back
But what is more disturbing were the reasons given for its closure charter house bank was accused of violating KYM that is not knowing its customers well which is surprising as I do not know any bank that knows all its customers well.
It was also accused of money laundering which even was true can be just fully be accused of since we did not have a money laundering act in 2006 it only came to effect last year
Lastly, charter house bank was accused of tax evasion which in actual sense was never directly involved its customer which included kings way group and Nakumatt were the ones involved in tax evasion and that makes me wonder who is fooling who in this whole saga

about charter house bank

Life has taught me not to take things at face value. To always delve deeper and search for the intricate details that give me the ultimate truth. I believe in justice to always give the benefit of doubt to what I haven’t researched in and for the longest time the saga on charter house bank has been very intriguing.
What I find more intriguing is the recent case where all the personalities who in 2006 who declared that charter house bank were guilty now claiming that charter house bank is innocent and can fully resume its operations. This includes the K.R.A commissioner general Michael waweru and KACC assistant director John Mutonyi who said that they had no issues with the bank.
Four years ago the charter house bank hit the headlines it was accused of violating many banking rules, first it was accused not knowing its customers well Something which all banks don’t  know. It was also accused of tax evasion which in this case it was its clients who evaded paying the taxes. Nakumatt which is way bigger than its competitor uchumui used to pay ten times less than uchumi. The question to me is then why is nakumatt still in operation? It was also accused of money laundering something which by then was not a crime according to our constitution.
I don’t know about you but I am more that convinced that someone wanted charter house bank to be closed for a reason and the fact that Michael Ranneberger is so much against its reopening makes it even more intriguing.
